Your 10% contribution will be paid directly to your approved training provider, who you as an employer will be required to choose from the registered list provided by the Skills Funding Agency.
The cost of the apprenticeships will be negotiated with your training provider and will need to adhere to the funding caps for different qualifications, in the same way as larger firms that pay the Apprenticeship Levy, this is called ‘co-investment‘.
The government will then pay its share up to the funding cap limit for your chosen apprenticeship.
All government apprenticeship funding will come from the AL pot, a proportion of which will be allocated to support apprentices in non-levy paying employers.
Any member of staff under the age of 25 who is enrolled on an apprenticeship programme will not be subject to national insurance contributions.
